Unique terroir features: The vineyard sites are on Kempsville sandy clay loam soil from 150 foot elevation sloping down to Cat Point Creek. The lay of the land offers good water and air drainage.  There are cooling breezes from the Rappahannock River and an Eastern exposure with good morning sun.
Major grape varieties: (Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Vidal, Traminette, Petite Manseng, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Chambourcin & Norton
